Nigel Leat back behind bars

Former Hillside School teacher, Nigel Leat, who also uses the surname Russell, was released on parole last November has breached his licence conditions already and is back behind bars.  Leat was convicted of numerous sexual offences against school pupils and was jailed indefinitely in 2011, yet the parole board decided he was fit for release last autumn.  Samantha Robson acted for a number of Leat's victims after he finally admitted abusing children at Hillside First School in Worle between 2006 and 2010. One family spoke out at the time of the parole board decision and were horrified that Leat was due for release.  Sam spoke to one mum who was totally aghast that her daughter may, `bump into him in the street, she is really upset.  My daughter still fails to understand why a man convicted of such serious offences against numerous children should be able to walk free so soon'.  It would appear that her concerns were justified and Leat's behaviour must have been sufficiently worrying for his probation officer to decide he has breached his licence conditions already.  Sam is continuing to act for victims of Nigel Leat who have come forward in recent years.
