Former Chief of Police, Gordon Anglesea now convicted of sexual offences

Former North Wales Chief of Police Gordon Anglesea has now been found guilty at Mold Crown Court of sexual offences against two teenage boys.  This long running scandal is finally over for Anglesea who, despite several investigations, has maintained his innocence over the past 25 years.  The jury found him guilty of indecent assault against one boy and three indecent assaults against the other.  The offences took place between 1982 and 1987 when the boys were aged around 14.  During the trial, Anglesea was questioned about his connections with Gary Cooke and Peter Howarth, former Deputy Head of Bryn Estyn Children’s home, both convicted paedophiles who had committed sexual offences against boys at Bryn Estyn children’s home in North Wales.  Many Bryn Estyn residents have claimed Anglesea was a regular visitor to the children’s home.
